Baijiu Spain – Temperance Cocktail

The country is located in South-western Europe on the Iberian peninsular of which it occupies 85% which it shares with Portugal. Spain is geographically diverse. Its heartland is the Meseta, a broad central plateau half a mile above sea level. The southern part of the country is desert, its countryside is dotted with castles, aqueducts and ancient ruins, but its cities are modern. Madrid which is the capital, is also the largest city and Spain’s financial and cultural centre.

Spain’s national drink is Sherry which is a fortified wine made from white grapes. Sherry is produced in many variety’s. It has protected designation of origin status, all wines labelled sherry must come from an area in the province of Cadiz, between Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlucar de Barrameda and El Puerto de Santa Maria. After fermentation is completed, the base wines are fortified with grape spirit in order to increase their final alcohol content which is 16 – 18% ABV.

Temperance Baijiu Cocktail

30ml of V.I.P Jiu 8
60ml of Sherry
15ml of colorless Curacao
15ml of passion fruit syrup
15ml of Grenadine
20ml of lemon juice
20ml of orange juice
4 ice cubes
Crushed ice
Orange slice
Cherry

Put all ingredients except fruit and crushed ice into shaker, shake to mix, strain into hurricane glass, top with crushed ice. Garnish with orange slice and cherry, drink through a straw.
