Poland lies at the centre of the European continent, a irregular circle which is bordered on the north by the Baltic sea, to the north-east by Russia and Lithuania. To the east, Belarus and the Ukraine. To the south the border follows the watershed of the Beskid, Carpathian and Sudeten mountains.
While to the west the Neisse and Oder rivers. With a population of over 38 million people, Poland is the sixth most populous member state of the European union. The capital city of Warsaw lies on the Vistula River. It is situated in the Warsaw plain, a glacier-formed basin. Warsaw houses all the central institutions of the national government.
The national drink of Poland is Krupnik, it is a sweet alcoholic drink similar to a liqueur, based on grain spirit and honey and up to fifty different herbs. Mass-produced versions of the drink are 40 – 50% ABV.
